The Department of Communication offers academic preparation and community-based experience to prepare you for a challenging, rewarding career. We offer the flexibility of traditional in-class learning, in-class/online blend, or 100 percent online coursework.
Join Georgia's exciting $6 billion film industry working on one of the sets of the more than 250 films and TV productions shot in the State this year. As the third largest production center in the nation, Georgia boasts of a workforce with more than 100,000 people tied directly or indirectly to this growing part of the economy.
The Department of Communication would love for you to join us at 7:00 PM, August 23rd in the auditorium of the Rainey McCullers School of the Arts for the Columbus movie premiere of STILL. This production, filmed on location in Harris County, launched our department's partnership with the Georgia Film Academy and its success represents community-wide support for bringing the film industry to our area. In fact, 13 CSU students enrolled in the GFA partnership served as production assistants on the set of this film. Since the release of STILL, both the movie and its writer have won numerous awards - including the prestigious GEORGIA Film Award at the Atlanta Film Festival. We are proud of this product that represents only the tip of what our students can do in the CSU Department of Communication. Immediately following the screening, Takashi Doscher (writer / director), Craig Miller (Producer) and some of our own students who served as PAs on this production, will assemble on-stage for a Q&A session with audience members. I would like to receive your emailed RSVP (accept or regret) by August 20. Upon receipt of your acceptance, I will email directions to the event and to your designated parking area.
