The Public Relations degree program combines theoretical concepts with applied research, planning, communication, and evaluation of comprehensive public relations campaigns. In addition, students gain valuable networking opportunities through participation in the CSU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Students build fundamental knowledge of communication theory and multi-media skill proficiency. They focus on management-level participation in public relations work both on a daily basis and through protracted campaign work. The coursework is in keeping with standards of the Public Relations Society of America and helps students move beyond working on technical writing to making administrative decisions and honing their skills as team members and administrators in public relations firms.
